GLP-1, also known as Semaglutide, is a modified version of the naturally occurring glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) as a receptor agonist that has been developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity by regulating blood sugar levels. GLP-1 has also been investigated for its potential cardiovascular benefits and even weight management properties by delaying gastric emptying encouraging reduced food intake and promote satiety.
